If you don't have Real Media Player you can download it from www.real.com NOTE: - you will have to look carefully in the top right corner of the page for the small link to the free version.

If the streaming is a bit slow or jerky try downloading the files first and then watching them (if you have a download manager like Download Accelerator Plus it might even take only half the time to download than it would to watch).

I will have more video files available as time goes on.

If you like our program, please consider emailing your friends who might be interested in seeing the program, particularly if they are overseas. Especially now that we have streaming video of the program available I would like to try to spread the word about our web site more widely.

Also, if you know anyone who might be able to consider sponsoring us, both this site and the program itself, we are looking for sponsors to ensure the future of the program.

Any feedback about the program and the web site is welcome as well, - Email me on david@davidmcl.id.au

NAT Chat is an informal chat style program which gives local community groups and individuals an opportunity to appear on Community Television to chat about their activities and promote themselves. It's half-hour format has the space for up to two interviews each week, with various topics as diverse as the community itself. With no more than two topics covered per episode, the program takes the time to allow these groups to be heard.

This program is also the main way for members of NAT to get involved in producing a program for NAT, either on the technical side or as an interviewer (or both).

The original quarter hour format of the program was last seen on air in mid 1999, after running for several years, but various factors, including difficulty finding studio space, caused the program to cease production at that time. We have since worked out ways of getting around those problems, and the show is again up and running as a long term regular program.

This is a perfect opportunity for community groups and individuals to express themselves on Community Television, particularly those from the Northern Suburbs.

Groups and individuals interested in being interviewed on NAT Chat or in being otherwise involved in the program, can contact the program's Producer:

David McLauchlan - Phone 9482 7052 / 0412 166 563 or email

How we tape Nat Chat

We currently record the program live to tape (with only titles and cuttaways being edited in later) in the Community TV Studio at the offices of Channel 31 in Little Lonsdale St in Melbourne.

Originally we started shooting the new format of Nat Chat in a Church Hall owned by one of our members. Here are some photo's of the first shoot for the new format Nat Chat on Saturday the 4th August 2001, in the Church of the Nazarene hall, corner of Martin and Armadale Streets, in Thornbury. Four interviews were recorded which were used in some of the first episodes of the program.

Here are some photo's of a later shoot on Saturday the 1st of December, 2001.

Still Shots from First four interviews

The people that took part in the first shoot and were featured in the some of the first programs were:
  • Ruth and Naomi Chivell - talking about home schooling

  • Serafim Antoniou - a member of the local Greek community talking about his life

  • Dr Pon Sathia-Nathan - talking about the Tamil community.

Here are some screen shots of these interviews.
